- Pathankot-Chhatwal- Jandwal- Jassur- Sadwan Khas- Gurchal-Niari- Malkwal- Baduni- Chinian- Pukhri- Kalhetar- Bankot- Randoh- Sultanpur- Chamba. This is the main route from Pathankot to Chamba. The distance of this route is 104 km which can be traveled in 3 hours and 15 minutes.
- Pathankot- Chhatwal-Jandwal-Bungal- Badhani- Dunera- Dugoh- Tunuhatti- Hatli- Nainikhad- Duniara- Pukhar- Bathri- Bainska- Darada- Mukdeti- Chaned- Saru-Udaipur- Sultanpur- Chamba. The distance of this route is 118 km which can be traveled in 3 hours and 30 minutes. On this route, you will go along NH 20 until you near Nurpur in Himachal Pradesh. From here you will go on State Highway 28 and keep in doing until reach Lahru. Here you will turn left to continue on State Highway 28. Keep on going until you reach Tunuhatti. From there you take up State Highway 33, which ultimately takes you to Chamba.

Manimahesh Lake
Manimahesh Lake is also known as Dal Lake, it is situated in the Pir Panjal Range of the Himalayas, in the Bharmour subdivision of the district of Chamba. This lake is nestled at an elevation of 4080 meters and it is considered only second in significance to Lake Mansarovar in Tibet. The meaning of the word Manimahesh is “Shiva’s jewels”.
According to local people, on a full night moon, one can see the reflection of this jewel in the holy lake. Most of the months of the year, the lake remains closed because of the snow and to reach the lake, you have to streak a distance of 13 km through enchanting mountains and greenery. Manimahesh Lake is divided into two main parts- the larger part is called the Shiv Katori, the bathing place of Lord Shiva and the lower part is called Gauri Kund, the bathing place for Goddess Parvati.
The holy lake is located near the virgin peal of Manimahesh Kailash Parbat, which is considered to be the holy abode of Lord Shiva. It is believed that Shiva created both the landforms as his marital home with Goddess Parvati and he is believed to b residing here still. There is even a marble image that is dedicated to Lord Shiva in the periphery that is also known as Chaumukha.

Lakshmi Narayan Temple
You may mistake Chamba to be a run-of-the-mill getaway destination with lakes and temples and you may wish to see clear of the Lakshmi Narayan Temple but I should advise you the opposite. The Lakshmi Narayan Temple is the largest and oldest temple in Chamba and this temple was built in the shape of Shikhara.
It houses six of the most beautiful and stu8nning idols of Lord Shiva and Vishnu. The central idol of Vishnu is carved out of marble and is a sight to behold. Champavati Temple
Champavati Temple was built by Raja Sahil Varman in memory of his daughter, Champavati. This temple is a revered Hindu pilgrimage site and is thronged by tourist day in and day out.
Champavati Temple is located in the heart of the city near the Treasury Building and Police Post, the temple has distinctive Shikara style features that are inspired by Nepal architectural designs. It boasts of several rock carvings and has a magnified wheel on the rooftop which makes this temple unique from the other temples in the region. Huge sculptures grace the interiors and the walls have beautiful carvings on stone. This temple enshrines the idol of Goddess Mahisasuramardini, an incarnation of Goddess Durga.
