Where is Parvati Valley located? It’s another scenic hill destination nestled in the northern state of Himachal Pradesh, within the Kullu district. The Parvati Valley originates at the confluence of the Parvati River and the Beas River, extending eastwards.
Numerous tributaries stemming from the Parvati River merge into the main river, while numerous waterfalls cascade down the steep valley sides. The entire route is adorned with coniferous forests and clusters of silver birch trees. Surrounding the Parvati Valley are lush green pine and deodar trees. The Parvati River joins the Beas River just above Bhuntar.

It is the place you forget yourselves literally or metaphorically to find a new you to find your true self.
If I have to score the experience here, I would have given 10/10 to the river site, 9/10 to the camping, and 11/10 to the trekking. Don’t just believe me go and experience the beauty yourself. Its almost same like Jibhi Himachal Pradesh.
The riverbank offers a captivating setting, adorned with picturesque scenery. Here, you can simply sit amidst the woods for as long as you desire, immersing yourself in the pages of a good book, listening to captivating stories, or simply contemplating deeply as the river’s gentle flow lulls you into a meditative state. Mesmerizing, the whole place is just mesmerizing. The bridge in Kasol connecting Parvati Valley is a must-visit if adventure is your main sport. Crossing the bridge gives you a spectacular steep mountain view.
There is still a lot more to say but the calmness of soul and heart which I felt cannot be scribbled into words it just and can only be felt by being physically there absorbing all the beauty and enjoying it thoroughly.

The place has a lot more to offer than just Manikaran you know. The beautiful twists and turns of the river, rolling down and trolling up is a true wonder. It is a heaven for trekkers and an abode for peace seekers many travelers just settled down there to such effect of its calmness.

Parvati valley is the most important remnant of HIPPIE TRAIL in INDIA. It is famous for its beautiful serene majestic beauty one of its own kind having its own charm. Sikh and Hindu pilgrimage- MANIKARAN- is one of the places to visit while you are here.
It’s a gateway to PARADISE ON EARTH And of course, how can you forget the delicious Israeli food.
Delhi to Tirthan valley
Trip to Parvati Valley reminds me of chilling nights under the bare sky covered only and with full of stars as if a blanket on the foothills of the great Himalayan range. The sky bows down to kiss the mountain ranges, clouds create a haze as if racing with each other, and the cool chilling breezes crossing you causing shivers is out of the world. Sometimes you are at such height that clouds are not really far away from you.
The place in the evening ignites deep into the woods (forest) the international DJs are invited to perform. The price to enter is exorbitant. The festivity last for several weeks and the booking to the place are for weeks and therefore the short trip plan is not for this place.
Is Parvati Valley Safe?
Some points to keep in mind: –
- Walking (a lot)
- No comfortable accommodations as the place offer traditional wooden lodging which is basics and rustic in nature.
- Gets dark really quick (of course)
- People are helpful
- The Area is safe analytically
- Go only if you are seeking peace not if you are looking for buzzy tourist spots.
- The place is for someone who is not looking for something famous like Manali but rather it is an off-beat location and therefore has to offer the unseen magic of its own.
- Stay is a very low and affordable price with decent Indian, Chinese, Italian and Israeli food.
- Throughout the Parvati Valley, mobile networks are not stable. I would suggest BSNL is the best to use over here and also the Airtel.
Best time to visit Parvati Valley Trek
It is a place where you can find something new every day be it the season of the winter or summers. You can visit here anytime though as per my experience I would recommend the time from Late March to early September. If you are looking for snow go there in winter to witness the snow in December same like Kasol in December.
Overall, it can be enjoyed throughout the year except saving the big multi-day trekking as it would not be possible in winters but the rest of the valley should not be a problem. Views and colors of the region change according to the season. Therefore, suggested traveling in spring (MARCH-APRIL). Apricot blooms in this season here.
The most beautiful time you can spend here is in the morning sitting in one of the cafes on the riverside and just ponder on how life can be in some parts which are still unexplored and unspoiled. The place to visit solo, with friends or family.
Where is Parvati Valley
The place just has a lot of small villages to visit (explained further)
There are many treks for beginners and trained professionals. I would prefer a long walk by the river trails side. A lot of towns and villages fall under this belt. The unparallel peace and tranquility is the thing which is a world apart. Everywhere you have small cafes strewn which serves one of the best mocktails, (cocktails too), and fresh lemon and herbal tea. The place offers base camp for many interesting treks for example the most popular being Pin Parbati Pass and Kheerganga
if I have to name a few. Several villages have been transformed into backpack hangouts offering affordable (cheap) accommodation, international food, and music to the international crowd.
- Manikaran : Manikaran is famous for its pilgrimage effect. It is just ahead of Kasol (just 20 minutes away from Kasol camp) – the major pilgrimage center for Sikh and Hindu faith with natural hot spring water. The Hindus and Sikhs often come here to wash away their sins in the holy water and penance.
- Rudra Nag: It is the waterfall nearby the Parvati valley apparently named after its resembles to the water snake.
- Kheerganga: It is a must-do activity. It is said about this place that millennials ago Lord Shiva meditated here for long 3000 years and thus the place holds the holistic values for those who believe in the power of Shiva. The saying goes this far that the valley has been named by Lord Shiva himself when he looked up to the landscape and its pure beauty from the meditation – after his consort Goddess Parvati herself.
There is yet another story that eons ago Kartikeya (younger son of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati) meditated here for about 1000 years and legends believe that the parents occasionally came to visit their son and Goddess Parvati used to prepare kheer for him and hence the place holds the greyish color. With a temple and sulfurous hot springs to relax those aching bones. But be careful not to spend too much time in the water as the smell could be nauseating. Also, from a tourist point of view, you get to enjoy the hot springs after a bone aching trek to the place to relax your muscles a little and continue the journey ahead.
- Kutla: Another village to trek from tosh village. it takes 3 to 4 hours of trekking to reach there. The place is little explored and untouched by the vices of city life makes you long to visit even further.
- Tosh: Motorable road is to the Barsheni, after that you have to trek to Tosh (or even Kheerganga and other villages). It is a lovely cute small village perched high on the mountain range. The locals are so welcoming (warm welcome if I have to admit). Many of the guesthouses have amazing views offering you a wonderful retreat.
- CHALAL: walks to villages like Chalar are pretty easy compared to other treks as it only takes 1-2 hours of trekking to reach after Tosh. But it is approximately 30 to 45 minutes’ walk from Kasol and it is also the base for Rashol – (nicknamed Malana’s younger cousin trek)Though the village is itself in a remote location and has really nothing to offer the trek and journey is what makes it FUN. Lots of picturesque moments on the way up are worth exploring and spending time with. The place is famous for its trance and parties (as discussed under the head NIGHTLIFE) where international DJs are invited to perform.
- RASHOL: the place which has cafes offering the best Israeli cuisine and mouthwatering bakeries. It is basically a 3 hours trek from Kasol.
- Grahan: it is yet another small village trek from Kasol which is around 10 km away. The surprising fact is that the accommodation in the village was just at INR 400 at the time I visited there. Phone networks don’t work here except for BSNL.
- PULGA: the pine forest of Pulga has been renamed a fairy forest by some hippies. As they say many years ago after a couple of days of hard-partying, they claimed to have spotted fairies in the woods into the deep.
- Kalga: it is the smallest village I have been to and also the most serene. Take the walk from here to Kheerganga and return on the other side of the valley for the breathtaking beauty and landscape.
